If you are looking for an NYC sublet...

My friend Sarah W in NYC is looking for someone to sublet her 3rd room in her East Village digs

If you’re curious just hit me up.

my roomie sarah and i need someone to sublet our 3rd room for february and march with the option to renew the lease at the end of march!!

the apartment

EAST VILLAGE!
92 second ave. (btwn 5th & 6th streets - right across from lit) 2nd floor walkup
rent = $1150 + $15 (wifi) + $45 (electric) / month

kitchen: stove, fridge, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, door to small outside deck, b/w tile floors

livingroom: futon, loveseat, tons of books, dvds & vhs, tv, dvd player, vhs player

bedroom:11x7, w/closet, ugly green walls that came with the apt that you can paint, big window that faces a brick wall so there’s light but privacy at the same time, fits a full size bed, dresser, and desk

sarah and i… well, if you are reading this you probably know one of us, so there’s no use in really going into details.

you: NOT allergic to cats (i have 2), have a decent job or a trust fund, responsible but like to party occasionally, preferably a non-smoker but if you do you can just go outside - no smoking in the apt

Thanks,
KLH

Finding the time or making the time

It has been noted numerous times that blogging is a dying sport.

In many aspects I agree with this statement. Blogging takes too long. Linking to images, stories, videos and audio requires research, time and effort.

If you are like me, a tad bit lazy, than you would understand why this “twitter” craze has taken over. We can now broadcast our actions through 140 characters or less. We can link, tinyurl, post photos and take qik videos through our blackberries and iphones. Its pretty neat.

Blogs are a more sophisticated method for us to transmit our thoughts. They give us a venue to voice our opinions and think out loud. For this reason we should be thankful that this exercise will maintain a presence in our lives.

On another “New Years” note - you will never see resolutions here on the Hansen Report. I am not out here to make proclamations as to what I should be or have to be doing, rather I like to produce suggestions and follow them at my leisure.

It should seem that I have been neglecting this blog for some time. The fact is that I have been having too much fun over at Trackstand to really focus much on documenting the interesting events, people and actions of my daily retinue.

Let us hope that I make more time for these updates and share my experiences more freely.

Okay, so who are these fat bastards

Here are the fat  bastards. Oh and what profitable companies have they produced? I am listening. In fact I am listening very intently to every single person who had anything positive or negative to note about todays conference. The just of it is as follows.

The keynote sucked balls. There are no new products. Chief Steve Jobs has his health in the air. Thats it.

We are all allowed to be mean once in a long time. At least that is a simple thought process, so here are my simple thoughts,

Tonight I looked on http://sfgate.com and I wanted some answers. Simply, who are all these pricks that are hating on my Apple? What do these guys/gals know that I do not? Why are they better than me? Are they smarter? Are they more fit? Are they more knowledgeable?

These are my horrible results:

These guys eat too much.

They have not innovated shit.

They wish they had a good idea. If they did, they would have started their own company.

They probably hate having a job. So start your own company or write mean things about me.

My mean entrepreneur note is: Get a job or create one.

Because until you are self-reliant you  are a schmuck.

Some people just suck

In order of appearance:

  1. rant towards worthless bankers
  2. recounting new years eve
  3. i was kind of mean, but it was funny to me anyway
  4. most things in life are trivial, get over it and move onto the big stuff.

Its the new year and over all I am very positive about how everything will be going moving forward.

I like how the world has been flipped upside down. It gives us little people a level playing field.

All the investment douchebags are pretty unsure of their futures. I like that. It gives me strength to know that I control my destiny, not some bloated company or unsustainable industry.

Right so, some people just suck.

New Years night was an ode to the past.

My buddy Charles ran into an old high school girlfriend of mine. Without telling her he would be hanging out with me, we concocted a “suprise” New Years reunion.

Jump to 11:45 PM

Charles’ phone reads

Text 1:” I can get you in”

Text 2:”But NO Kristian Hansen”

I got in for free anyway.

It was so great to create an akward, forced situation. Instead of enjoying a reunion of old friends and catching up, I was treated with indifference and the eternal feeling that this chick (who I dated for 2 years) wanted me to die. She did an excellent job of not making eye contact, of running to whatever part of the bar I was not standing in.

Now I make it out as though I was stalking her, but that could be further from the truth. I mean shit, its been 8 years since high school graduation and I haven’t seen her since. Get over it already. So what, Junior Prom wasn’t everything you wanted it to be. You weren’t everything I wanted you to be either.

Before leaving I got my sweet soundbite.

Strolling towards the vindictive ex-high school lover of mine from 1999-2000, the thoughts of our first date, first kiss, the copious amounts of Nutella I showered her with all blurred into a “I really don’t like you, but I am going to be the bigger person here” moment.

Me: How is everything going?

Her: Fine.

Me: So what’s up?

Her: Its just that out of all the people in the world, you are the last one I expected to see tonight.

Me:Okay, well. Hope you have a good New Years. Great catching up! (me smirking with kindness)

And that was it. That is it.

Bittersweet.

New Years Day I heard that my grandmother was on her death bed. She is now no longer with us.

When I see how old friends treat each other it makes me shudder. How can people become so detached when there are many more important things occurring in our lives than dwelling on the past. You would think I killed someone’s cat.

Note: I have never killed a cat.

Happy New Years!
