You know how they say that every action counts? Well, I feel that way about making your own food. Every apple you eat or carrot your grow is one less item that a giant multi-national corporation is producing in Mexico or the MidWest (no offense guys, its just not a very solid carbon footprint in my opinion). That means less pesticides, less growth hormones, less gasoline and a better environment.

Growing food for the consumption of your family, friends and community is RAD! Its fun, it binds us together and it makes for healthy, tasty treats.

My work at Laughing Chickens makes me smile everyday, but smiling is not enough. That is why we are also making raised beds and planter boxes for people’s backyards, gardens and patios. We want to bring the joy of gardening/light farming to the masses. 

We use redwood that is from the Santa Cruz Mountains, grown in second and third generation forests by the fine folks at Big Creek Lumber. Our urban garden workshop refines, cuts and designs the redwood into modular systems for easy installation.
