Yay! King Kog is one of my favorite bike shops. Its awesome to see Gina and Shawn keeping the shop going strong. They hooked me up big time after my wheelset was stolen last year.

Miss my Brooklyn peeps. Keep it local. Support your local bike shop.

Bike with me to Marin (and Ferry it back)

Trying out a new service from an NYC-based company called Skillshare. I’ll be leading a class this Saturday that will include a bike ride from Crissy Fields in the Presidio over the Golden Gate Bridge and onward through Marin.

We will be exploring a little bit of the county’s history as well as sampling fine coffee and food.

This will be an intermediate ride that all-in will take about 2-3 hours depending on everyone’s speed.

Register here!

Happy Fourth from Trackstand.com

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Out here in San Francisco we are celebrating the weekend with QCR - Quake City Rumble Six. Three days of racing, bbqs and beer.

Tomorrow marks the Mountain Lion Alleycat. Lots of hills, speed and misery.

Stay healthy and have fun!

SFBC Doubles the Number of Bike Lanes

San Francisco has doubled the number of bike lanes (or at least has gained approval for this action) through the lobbying efforts of thousands of SF cyclists. This is awesome.

The impetus for this great act was the rallying efforts of the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition.

It was my pleasure to wake up at the un-godly hour of 7 am last Friday to lend my support to the community and this spirited project.

The resolution passed 45 projects around the city. Kudos to all the volunteers and citizens of San Francisco.

I took a few pictures, but they pretty much sucked, so please refer to the “official” flickr photos embedded by the SFBC.
